Tweetie 2… Ooowheee you good lookin
by Roger
It’s like looking in the mirror..only not
O.K I’m not so quick on the complements as I should be I know I know looks great, smells great is great!
In fact I love it I had a rant the other day about paying for it again but after calming down and realizing I was #stupid I spoke with Loren the developer and Owner of atebits and apologies were offered and accepted.
There appears to only be one feature that I love from one of the other Twitter clients that isn’t in Tweetie which is the ability to put a tick mark next to multiple @ replies then click reply and it populates the tweet compose screen with all those names…
I wanted to somehow make up for my rant so I asked Loren for his paypal email to buy some copies of the iPhone app to give away, unfortunately developers are restricted by the Apple Store and this isn’t possible but instead Loren offered 3 licenses for the Desktop Tweetie (Yep that’s right he didn’t even charge me in the end!).
You can read a few reviews of Tweetie 2 for iPhone here and here.
And there is a whole load of documentation from Atebits here.
To be in with a chance to win one of the three licenses of Tweetie 2 DESKTOP for MAC!!!
I repeat TWEETIE 2 DESKTOP for MAC! Not iPhone Not Windows got it?

Comments
1.) Tweetie’s best feature is that IT DOESN’T CRASH! :-)
2.) The ability to simultaneously post to Facebook!
3.) I believe that would be Face Off! With Cage and Travolta.
Cheers!

1. The interface: landscape, simplicity, swipe for features.
2. Reply to multiple. Like you said. I haven’t used it but thats all I can think its missing.
3. Face Off
1. Finger flick to refresh.
2. Syncing with the desktop client.
3. Face Off.
1. Great interface design, fast.
2. None I can think of.
3. Face Off.
1. Best feature on iPhone, remembering where I was last. On Mac, multiple ways to be notified of new tweets, comments and dms. Overall, seeing “in reply to” tweets like a conversation is awesome.
2. More social network integration (i.e. FB, Flickr)
3. Face Off
1. The un-intrusive little orb glow at the bottom to show you have new tweets – really like this subtle way of informing the user of new tweets.
2. Push Alerts – I wouldn’t mine being able to receive push alerts for direct messages/@replies.
3. Face Off.
1. The really easy management of multiple accounts. I run a personal one and one for Georgia Tech sports and it makes things so much easier.
2. The ability to view lists of followers/following within the application.
3. Face Off (as in “Tweetie is rockin’ my face off!”)
1. Clean and Sexy (and efficient) Interface Design
2. Tweetie lacks a windows version.. ;)
3. Face Off.
Woohoo! Thank you! :)
1. Finger flick to refresh.
2. Syncing with the desktop client.
