Thesis from DIYThemes is all a buzz right now, Why because it’s a great theme from a customization standpoint, search engine optimization and many other reasons which other much more highly qualified people have gone into in more depth, see:

Revolution vs. Thesis: The Premium Theme Cage Match
Here are some prime examples of what you can do with it and later I’ll tell you how you can win a copy!
Originally I wanted to buy 10 copies to give away to readers of Onetime but after chatting with Chris Pearson of Pearsonified fame he offered to donate a personal license of the Thesis theme to my readers, I still might buy some more copies so get subscribed ;)
What do you have to do to win that one copy of the Theme?
Simple make a comment here explaining Why you want it and How you think it will benefit you plus you have to join 1395 others and subscribe to the Thesis RSS feed. Simple!
Chris will judge the winner and it will be announced on the 31st December 2008 here on Onetime! All the best!

Being a self confessed Wordpress junkie, I would love the chance to play around with Thesis and see what it’s all about – it looks amazing and wnt to push it past it’s limits.

Hope it’s not one of those competitions where you pick the best answer (always sucked at those things).. :)
I test and play around with themes, I buy a lot of them, I blog about them and recommend them to my twitter & facebook friends. One thing that has stopped me from buying thesis despite its growing popularity with bloggers I trust, is that I couldn’t really understand what everyone was going on about.. I want “more” info, I really want to “get in there” and try it before I cough up with the moula. With a copy of thesis, I can really show people the ins and outs and what it’s all about, and give it a “red hot go” myself. Being Aussie – and the $ being retarded right now, I bought something tonight for $49 which ended up costing $79.. and today the dollar has “improved” (apparantly!).. so when I buy a theme or anything in USD, I have to justify paying almost “double” the going rate.
egad! Erm.. Maybe you should force our comment-answers to be “in 140 characters or less” to stop ramblers like me taking up your blog space.. :P

And of course, I subscribe to Thesis feed.

Nice contest here. I think I will chime in, I would love a free Thesis theme due to the blunt reason of just seeing what all the hype is about :)

I’m planning a new kind of full time blog project for next year and am still looking for a good theme to apply my own design and content to. I came across Thesis some times now and am thinking thats its perfect for what i want from a theme so i would be really glad to win one.
Thanks for the offer and your effort.
Awesome gallery, I purchased the developers license to Thesis a bit a go and absolutely love it, one of the best themes I have worked with and I have worked with quite a few.
Good luck can’t wait to see what the winner does with it!

I would like to win Thesis because I’m going to take my Wordpress blog self-hosted in the new year, and would love to launch my new version of Culture Club with the Thesis theme, which looks elegant, stylish, efficient and highly usable – all the things I want to be associated with my guide to culture and the arts!
I currently use Cutline for my culture blog, and Thesis looks like the logical next step.

Yikes, where to begin. I’d really love one for a blog I’m starting on my passion – writing. Would love to use one of those for my project, it beats having to create one from scratch considering how lovely many of those look (it would take way too many hours) that could be better spent writing rather then designing ..and I’m not even sure I could come up with something as good.
Anyways seasons greetings to all!
I would like to win this theme because I’m taking my blog to a new self-hosted domain and it’s becoming a little too expensive already. Also, I feel like winning it. I’ve been a good boy this year, Santa would surely be on my side on this contest.

Having a technical blog, Thesis seems to fit perfectly my needs.
It’s simple, light, wide, and small in size. Just great!

Damn and you didn't even click on one of my affiliate links ;) Checked out the site looking good!
Thanks for the showcase above. I'd seen some of those blogs, and others are new to me. I like learning new things and visiting new blogs. And Thesis is great, because there is a neat user community that shares ideas in various places online.
I only own the single license, but may purchase the upgrade down the road.
I blog since 2003 and I'm still searching for the right look. I never wanted to buy a theme, but I don't have the knowledge to develo my own. I visited the site about the thesis theme a few times. I like it a lot, but I also think that it is a lot of money for a theme. But it really is a great theme…
Looks like this theme is exactly what a client of mine is after. I’m sure they would apreciate it :D
Just yesterday I was thinking of buying a license for a client of mine, a non-profit site about sustainable farming.
@Aukje: it is not really a lot of money for a theme if it is as good as advertised. Nonetheless, winning a free copy would be nice.
If I like it, I will buy a developer license and use it for all my own blogs and sites. I would love to move from Drupal to something less complex.
Roger,
I am hooked on wordpress. It is just so easy and there are so many plugins!
I have found a couple of places where you could make your own themes. Nasty! Thesis looks like something I would love to try! Spend less time on the look, and more time on the content.
My biggest nightmare is finding a theme and setting it up, only to find that it doesn’t display correctly in one of the browsers? Or that there is something I would like to do, but just can’t make it happen.
I think that Thesis would solve these problems. I would love to be able to set up my own theme without being a geekazoid.
Thanks,
Bob
Roger and Chris,
Thanks for this offer. If I were lucky enough to win a copy of the Thesis Theme, I would use it to revive my current Typepad site, studio 501c, about nonprofit marketing and social media.
I’ve done lots of research on various platforms including ExpressionEngine and Squarespace. And, of course, I am also familiar with Typepad. I am interested in Thesis because it uniquely offers this combination of benefits:
–best of both worlds — the grassroots open-source world of WP (which provides so many optons to bloggers) and the proprietary world of a supported theme with a national reputation (e.g., Chris Brogan and ProBlogger’s adoption of it)
–a extremely affordable way to set up an extremely well designed blog or website
–SEO friendliness (very important to nonprofits, especially in these times)
–excellent support on the Thesis forum (thanks especially to Rick Beckman)
–Thesis user role models, such as Lisa Firke of Hit Those Keys
–friendliness on Twitter, i.e., @pearsonified and @kingdomgeek are very responsive to Tweets
Thanks for your consideration and all the best to everyone here in 2009. I’m off to subscribe to the RSS feed and also to this blog’s RSS feed!
Celeste
cjw´s last blog post..nonprofits, especially web newbies, shouldn’t miss this free webinar series on storytelling and social media
Well being a WordPress Junkie and having my own site running WP, I would like to have a theme that is professional looking and unique. I have been in the process of customizing the theme that I currently use but just can’t find the time to dedicate with my busy work schedule.
Kyle Reddoch´s last blog post..New Years Resolution
I have been debating the Thesis issue for a couple of weeks now, and have been evaluating the situation. I don’t make decisions quickly, and when I make up my mind on a service I am completely loyal. I shout my favorite brands, tools and services from the rooftops of social media, and this will be no different.
As a designer, I’m looking for the right theme framework that will allow me to get myself familiar and comfortable, and then will build every single blog based on that framework.
From what I can tell, Thesis will answer those requirements very nicely. I am currently customizing Thematic, if for no other reason, than that it’s free. I am starting to think that Thesis is a stronger framework, and would love to be able to make the switch.
I currently run 4 blogs, and am about to start 5-6 more, keeping me at around 10 blogs – 2 of these new ones being blogs for non-profits. Again, I am going to run all of my blogs from the same theme, no matter what.
In such a good way,
Greg
Ah! I’ve been waiting for this post!
I’ve been dying to get my hands on a Thesis license for months – would have loved to use it for my blog, but couldn’t afford the fee! My Pavlovian drooling at the mention of Thesis was only made worse once I had an opportunity to play with the theme setting up a friend’s blog (he bought the theme at my suggestion)!
Why do I want it?
Aside from the SEO benefits of Thesis, I want a copy to love and nurture and call my own because I’m dying to incorporate my current header and a few of my current design elements with Thesis’s column & other design features and perks. I love a good challenge, love new toys, and love good design – so Thesis satisfies all three cravings!
I’m also wanting to start designing & installing wordpress blogs for clients (I’m currently a hosting reseller) and want the opportunity to apply my creativity to Thesis’s form. It’s the theme I recommend to anyone who asks, so it’s only fair I “walk the talk” and install it on my own blog!
How would it benefit me? Aside from all the built-in benefits of the theme itself, I’d get a chance to gain experience with the theme so I can start improving my skills to launch my aforementioned blog consulting business. It would also make my own blog so nice and clean and beautiful, I’d smile every day just looking at it. I think it could even turn me into a morning person – bounding out of bed, eager to get my hands on my beautiful blog with my beautiful theme!
The other reason it would benefit me is I’ve included saving up for Thesis on my New Year’s resolution list – how cool to start the new year with one of my resolutions already accomplished! Can you imagine a more promising outlook for 2009?
I can list more ways it would benefit me – I would use the money I’d been saving towards the license to get my 6 month long roots “touched up” and get an overdue haircut. My newly bleached & styled hair-do would bolster my self-esteem, improving my outlook on life, brightening my relationship, perhaps motivating me to improve my posture and take up a sport as well. The added energy from my new athletic endeavors would sharpen my wit, improving the quality of my blog posts and tweets. Perhaps one tweet sparks an idea in a young student’s mind – he solves global warming, fixes the US economy and rescues Tom Cruise’s career all with one website (also running on Thesis, of course). This is just the beginning of a chain of events leading to a global utopia . . .
Or you could give it to someone else. The world’s pretty ok as it is – right? :-)
faryl´s last blog post..I Have a Pornographic Mind
Well, I wrote a huge comment about the winners, only to have it deleted by my browser. I’m very frustrated at the moment, so I’ll be brief…
Because of the quality of a few of the submissions, I’ve decided to declare two second-prize winners in addition to the Thesis theme winner. The second prize winners will receive Thesis at an unprecedented discount (should they choose to take the plunge).
The second prize winners are Greg Huntoon and Faryl (@fearlessblogger).
And the winner of the free Thesis is…
Aussie blogger Penny Butler! Thesis costs a zillion dollars in Australia, and as a result, the trust quotient required to turn Aussies into Thesis users is through the roof. Penny has a great subscriber base and a firm footing on the Web already, and I truly believe that she’ll be able to make fantastic, genuine use of the theme.
Thanks to all who participated, and winners—you’ll be receiving emails from me soon!

Thank you! :)
I loved @faryl’s comment hehe.. I felt like buying him thesis when I read it (but of course.. I dont have a spare zillion dollars so I couldn’t oblige ;)

Hey Roger, no idea why it took me so long to see this post. Thanks for using my blog as an example. The best part is that once I got Thesis, all the customization I did on my own! It's easy and great, and the forums have been super helpful too. I'd totally recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I would love to get a copy of THESIS to figure out if I want to use it for our professional writers who want me to build a site… I need ot know if it would be easy to customize and attach to our site.. we are low on funds as we are a non profit..want to win one!!!
